Full Name: Blair Anthea Winters.
Alias: N/A.
Age/DOB: Twenty-seven | February 17th, 1983.
Hometown: Cork, Ireland.
Appearance: Standing at five feet and eight inches, Blair falls into the taller end of the height brackets for her age. Nonetheless, she’s hardly one to be ashamed of her height and isn’t the type to shy away from high heels. She has long, dirty-blonde hair that she typically keeps long and down the majority of the time. Still, Blair has a tendency to yank it back when it gets annoying in her face. Though it is common in the gypsy culture to wear revealing and often ‘slutty’ clothing in order to catch eye of a potential husband, Blair has somewhat grown out of that phase due to the fact she had been married at one point. Currently her style is rather haphazardly thrown together and not much thought is put into it. Blair sort of just grabs whatever is at the top of her drawers and closest in her closet. Typically her wardrobe consists of a more muted color scheme.
Personality: A bold and outspoken woman, Blair pretty much takes no shit. She speaks her mind, is blunt, and has a somewhat sarcastic sense of humor. Nonetheless, Blair is hardly one to be an overly obnoxious chatterbox. She doesn’t speak just to hear the sound of her own voice, nor does she babble on just for the sake of conversation to be had. However when Blair does speak, be prepared for an earful. She’s hardly one to be shy about
Powers: Blair has the ability of wound transferal. She can take the wounds from an individual, thus healing them, but has to then transfer them onto another person. This has to be done quickly, because the longer Blair 'holds' the wound onto herself, the more the wound 'attaches' itself onto her. She can also use this power offensively by wounding herself, and then transferring it onto an enemy. However Blair does have a small secondary power of rapid healing, though it's not as advanced as other mutants with a similar power.
History: The second born to a family of Irish travellers, Blair’s life growing up was anything but typical. Due to the stereotypes that seem to surround the gypsy culture, as well as the difficulties of being on the constant move, Blair saw a lot of both Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom, as well as numerous other travellers like herself. Her father earned a living as a horse breeder, meaning that the Appleby Festival, a yearly occurrence where gypsies got together, was always something that Blair looked forward too.
Growing up, Blair was considered to be a rebel of the family. While her parents (as well as nearly every other set of travelling parents) forbid their children to do anything more than hold hands with a member of the opposite sex, Blair spent more time with what was deemed ‘country boys’ or those who didn’t live the life of a gypsy. She was often getting punished for sneaking out of their caravan past curfew and not telling her parents where she was going to be at. It wasn’t anything personal against the travelling life, Blair simply found the world of those outside of the gypsy community to be more exciting.
It was at one of the Appleby festivals that at the age of sixteen, Blair met her future husband, Sean O’Malley, a fellow traveller. They only saw each other a handful of times during their engagement, and after they wed a year after their initial meeting. The wedding was of course, a big event, as is the custom for the traveller’s to have. Her wedding gown was so ridiculously tacky and gaudy it left scars and bruises that refused to fade for weeks on end. Nonetheless, it had also been a day that even seemingly cold Blair had dreamt about since she was a little girl and it was maybe due to the stress of the event that caused Blair’s mutation to surface. It turned out, that Blair had the ability to render herself invisible. Her parents, family, and fiancé were told of her powers, and the news was met with a rather blasé attitude. No one really cared, as long as attention wasn’t brought to the fact that Blair was a mutant. Being a gypsy meant the family already had enough prejudices against them, let alone to be a mutant gypsy at that. After the wedding, seventeen year old Blair left her family (and most notably her youngest sister Charity whom she was closest too) behind and began travelling about with her now husband.
Married life quickly bored Blair. She thought her husband was a nice enough man, and the two got along well enough, but the relationship was hardly built upon love. Sean was a quiet, shy young man and Blair just found him to be fairly dull. However marriage was such a sacred union in the strict, traveller’s society, that Blair wasn’t about to go searching for a divorce. The term was like voodoo to the gypsy people, who lived by a fairly rigid moral code. Though she had rebelled against certain rules in the past, even outspoken, rebellious Blair wasn’t about to go seeking a divorce.
Years passed, and soon enough her younger sister Nicolette followed in her footsteps and got married at the age of seventeen. All eyes then turned onto the youngest of the Winters’ kids, Charity, to then wed, and soon enough the baby of the family did find herself. Blair and her husband travelled into the current town the Winters family was staying in, and as the wedding day quickly approached, it seemed Charity was growing more and more nervous. Though surprised when her baby sister came to her, with her own mutant powers having developed as well as a plot to flee to America, thus escaping the wedding that had been so religiously planned, Blair quickly agreed to accompany her sister on the trip. Dressed in their wedding attire, the pair caught the next flight to New York City.
Unknown to Blair, during her year of missing memories, she began to work as a bail bonds person. Charity and herself went their separate ways.
