Full name: Theodore James Montgomery Austen.
Alias: None.
Age: 34.
Birthday: December 10th, 1978.
Hometown: Chicago, Illinois.
Marital Status: Divorced.
Occupation: Real Estate Developer and hotelier.
Family:
Family Tree
Benjamin James Austen [father]
Claire Elizabeth Rutherford-Austen [mother; deceased]
Emily Walton [ex-wife]
Harry Austen [son]
James Elizabeth Claire Austen [daughter]
Appearance: Standing at five, nine and a half, Theo isn't as tall as some men, but he's average and doesn't mind. With brown hair that takes on a shaggy edge, and glassy gray eyes he normally hides from view with dark sunglasses, Theo at times seems a little menacing with his dark clothes. But, when his children are around he looks like nothing but a proud father.
Theo has the Latin words 'HIC ET NUNC', which mean here and now, tattooed on the inside of his right forearm. And the words 'Living is easy with eyes closed' on his left arm.
Personality: Theo is a very honest guy, who is opposed to lying. His straightforwardness, might at times earn him the title of 'dick', but he'd rather tell it how it is than lie right to someone's face. He also thinks before he acts, and in doing so stays out of trouble. While he may look a little dangerous, he's a very friendly man, and doesn't at all look like the millionaire he is.
Powers: Theo has super hearing and speed. His hearing allows him to get to things fast enough without problems.
History: Theo was born into an all too rich family, his father a real estate developer and his mother was an heiress to a chain of hotels in Europe. While the fact he was a boy made the Austen men glad, the other fact he was born blind made them wish he'd just been a girl. His mother, on the other hand loved him unconditionally. At five his mother died in a plane crash, and his father busied himself with work rather than comforting his child. From then on he was raised by nannies, and came out to be a rather good bloke. Someone, Nanny Greta had told him, his mother would be proud of.
Though puberty is quite a big change, it became even greater as he developed abilities no mere mortal should possess. His hearing became uncanny, and his movements swift and agile. It took him time to get used to, to realize when he was moving at top speed and when he was ambling about normally.. But, with practice he controlled his powers. Learning to know when it was time to stop and when best to use. And with an empty house, besides the nannies and Jeffery(the butler), he learned fast.
While Theo grew to accept his father's treatment or rather lack of attention, the two never got along. Always fighting about something or another, beliefs, politics, whether or not dinner was cooked properly...
When it came time for Theo to go to college, his maternal grandfather stepped in and helped pay as his father simply refused and his other grandfather wanted nothing to do with a defective. Theo wanted to go to Julliard and play piano and was even accepted, but instead (sadly, to please his father, which he hates himself for), he went to Columbia and studied business.
When he graduated, his friends encouraged him to go out and celebrate, to which he refused, because Papa Rutherford immediately started him in the family business. First looking over the landscaping of the new house being built in honor of his late grandmother. To which he met Emily Walton. There just so happened to be a spark, and she didn't seem like a person who cared about his blindness nor his money.
Around the time they were married, Theo was surprised to find his grandfather giving him a hotel to manage in New York City and he did so from home, but of course made trips back and forth. But, before he knew it he had two children and his marriage was going down hill. Too many arguments, too many grudges to hold onto. A divorce was settled a year after their daughter James was born.
Theo unable to really handle the divorce and the custody battle, moved to New York City. Where he gave his hotel to a surprised bellhop, and he bought The Empire hotel for himself, among other prospering buildings. And though he couldn't enjoy the sight of the skyscrapers and Central Park, Theo grew to love the Big Apple. He tried to stay out of the limelight, never really attending social gatherings of all the big wigs.
And when he has his children on the weekends, he also makes sure his schedule is free. Even if Nanny Greta is still around, he doesn't allow his business to interfere with him being a father, no matter what the judge said.
