Full name: Amara Juliana Olivians Aquilla
Alias: Magma
Age/DOB: Twenty, May 6th, 1990.
Hometown: Nova Roma, Brazil.
Appearance: Standing at 5’6”, Amara is of average height for a woman her age, as well as at the average weight. Her long blonde hair can be classified as ‘dirty’ blonde, though spending large amounts of time in the warm sunlight caused it to lighten. Her eyes are somewhat of a green color that have flecks of brown in them, giving them a hazel appearance. Her sense of dress is for comfort over fashion. She wears a lot of neutral, earth tones with a lot of loose fabrics. Growing up in a warmer climate, since she moved to America, she has the habit of piling on layers due to the fact that Amara finds New York to be far too cold to her liking.
Personality: A sweet, if not naïve girl, Amara has the habit of trusting people far too easily. Due to her upbringing in such a secluded city lacking in any modern devices, Amara has the habit of being both fascinated and confused by basic technologies that can be found in New York. She’s fairly chatty as well as a friendly individual. Nonetheless, Amara also has a fairly bad temper, and angers easily, especially when her easy trusting nature and naivety are used against her. It’s also common for her powers to flare up (no pun intended), during her spells of anger.
Powers: Amara has the ability of geokinesis; meaning she can psionically control the movement of the tectonic plates within the Earth’s crust, as well as it’s within her radius of a couple city blocks or so. She also has the ability of pyrokinesis; the ability to create flames and blasts of heat, as well as magma manipulation, meaning Amara can psionically control the magma or molten rock that lies beneath the earth’s crust.
History: Born in the colony of Nova Roma, in the jungles of Brazil, Amara Aquilla was the daughter of a senator, and thus was raised in a fairly lavish and loving household, but at the same time lived a fairly simplistic life, due to the lack of any sort of modern technologies. Nova Roma was truly its own little world, segregated from the rest of Brazil, as well as the rest of the world.
Nonetheless, political problems erupted when Amara reached her late teen years. A cult formed by an opposing senator of her father’s, worshipped a ‘witch’, (who was really an immortal mutant), Selene, and was seeking to overthrow Nova Roma’s current government, in exchange of an Imperial rule over the colony, lead by Slene herself. It was when Amara’s father heard of the cult’s actions of sacrificing young woman by throwing them into a nearby volcano, he planned to have Amara be hidden in the jungle surrounding Nova Roma. His plans failed, however, and the cult got hold of the young blonde woman. Being tossed into the mouth of the volcano by Selene, Amara’s mutant powers emerged, securing her survival.
As Nova Roma crumbled to the ground, Amara and her father, as well as other citizens of Nova Roma fled the colony, to safer parts of the world. The Aquilla’s soon found refugee in America, New York City to be exact.
