Appearance: Standing at 5’9”, Bettany towers over most other girls in both stature and the way in the which she carries herself. She was bought up well and it shows. Her hair is always polished, no matter what and her nose is always powdered. She favours expensive fabrics in her clothes and high heels to ensure she never goes unnoticed. A staple piece in her wardrobe are long, often opera-style, gloves. They are worn as a reminder to Bettany to be delicate as her powers can often mean she is too heavy-handed with tasks.
Personality: Bettany was brought up to believe she was the best and this is an idea she has never abandoned. She gives off an arrogant air, believing that she is both invincible and better than everyone else in the street.
Powers: Bettany has the power of superhuman strength, allowing her to act with the strength of fifteen well built men.
History: Born as the third child of Alexander Hamilton and his first wife, Helen, the Earl and Countess of Stockton, things were odd about Bettany from the start. All scans taken during the pregnancy had indicated twins and yet when she was born, it was clear there had only ever been one baby. The pregnancy had been very hush-hush, due to fears of a miscarriage and so Bettany’s birth passed with very few people aware of her existence. Unlike most mutants, Bettany’s powers did not emerge during her teen years but a developed from birth, her strength building with each year and terrifying her parents. She was kept away from her brother and sister from the age of two after accidentally breaking her brother's hand while playing peek-a-boo, and given a rather lonely existence in a separate wing of the house, attended to by a nanny who regarded her charge with fear.
The strain of having a freak child resulted in Bettany's parents divorcing in 1991, with neither party wanting to take responsibility for her. Deciding it would be better for her if she continued to go unnoticed, they sent Bettany to school in Romania, where she was looked after by foster parents Bram and Anna-Maria Desquoire. Bettany was a rebellious student and eventually the Desquoires had to home school her, taking her travelling often to try and satisfy her want for adventure. Having no children of their own, the Desquoire's did their best to love Bettany and dote on her, but her earlier experiences of neglect and fear had left her undesiring of their attention and mistrusting of almost everyone.
As she grew up, Bettany only became more bitter, regarding her parents with hate. They had turned their back of her simply because of her mutation and Bettany soon learned that she was not alone. Catching glimpses of the news that her foster parents tried to keep from her, she soon realized that all around the globe, humans were doing what they could to suppress people like her, even going so far in some places to imprison and kill people just for being mutants. Angered, she began to research mutantion and soon came across the organization known as the Brotherhood. In her eye, Magneto was her true father, acting for her best interests rather than shying her away as her real father had done, or ignoring her powers as her foster father did. The night of the Alcatraz attack, Bettany wept herself to sleep, believing her idol dead.
It was a few years later when, by chance, she ran into the face she had only known through her computer screen. She had begun frequenting a mutant bar, getting herself into fights she always won, and was there one night when Magneto walked through its doors. He was looking for skilled mutants with which to build a new army. The others in the bar never met his eye, preferring their sheltered and secret existence but Bettany signed up straight away. Packing a small bag, she left a note for her foster's parents simply stating that they would see her on the news and left Romania for America at Magneto's side.
She has been with Magneto ever since, living at training at the Acolyte headquarters where she is doing everything she can to please her leader.
