Name: Liam Matthew Allerdyce.
Alias: Scorch.
Age: 28.
Birthdate: 04/11/85.
Hometown: Maryborough, Australia.
Family:
Nicholas Allerdyce || Father
Anna Campbell-Gates || Mother
Billy Gates || Stepfather
St. John Allerdyce || Half Brother
Mila Winston || Ex-Wife
Appearance: While he has never met his father, Liam looks very much like him. Or so his mother says. Blonde hair, blue eyes, and a good height of six foot; he's a jeans and t-shirts kind of guy that always has a cigarette in his mouth.
Personality: Liam has a very colorful vocabulary and unwelcoming air. He was a very impulsive youngster, but a stint in prison made him see things more clearly. If you did something that went against the law you had to be smart about it and know when to ask for help. Growing up in a rather rough setting taught Liam to always be on guard and ready for a fight. While he's definitely a thinker now, he's not a complete stiffy and knows how to enjoy himself. He's only ever friendly with people he knows or thinks he can trust.
Powers: Liam is able to create and control heat as well as emit heat through his skin that can burn when touched. This happens because his body practically breathes in any heat he comes across and is released at will, making his skin much warmer than the average human.
History: Anna Campbell was sixteen when she found out she was pregnant from a one-night stand. It had been with a guy she knew well, or at least she knew of him. He probably didn't even know her name, but they had both been a little drunk at a party and started making out which led to finding a bedroom. When Anna's parents found out they packed up and left Bradly to go north to Maryborough.
Liam Matthew Allerdyce was born May 11th, 1985. Anna's parents didn't understand why she gave him the Allerdyce boys surname, but they didn't question it. The first couple years of Liam's life was spent with his mother and grandparents. Until his mother started dating a local gang banger when Liam was four. It wasn't even six months later that his mother got a tattoo declaring herself Billy Gates' property and they moved in with the man. From then on Billy treated Liam as his own and Liam finally had someone he could look up to, a role model as it were. And with Billy came a rather unconventional family.
At thirteen, Liam came into his powers. His 'uncle', another gang member, was trying to teach him how to cook. Making things laced with marijuana, of course, but still- it was a pivotal lesson. While Otto sat smoking a joint, he had Liam get the brownies out of the oven. However, Liam forgot the mits and pulled the pan out with his bare hands. Otto cursed up a storm, choking on the acrid smoke, before he rushed over to a confused Liam. Looking to see if Liam had burned himself with a 'stupid runt' comment. Otto was burnt the moment he touched Liam's wrist, but Liam felt nothing. It took a while for Liam to figure out what his powers were exactly and much to his mother's dislike Billy and the guys helped him figure it out. Making him quite resourceful when he grew up.
Liam didn't like school and dropped out of secondary when he was sixteen, it wasn't that he was failing any of his classes - in fact, he was a top student - Liam just didn't understand what an education could give him that his family couldn't. He knew he's be following in Billy's footsteps and even finished up his hazing period before he turned eighteen. He only became a full-fledged member of the gang when he got out of jail for smuggling guns at twenty-one.
The night he got out of prison he met Mila Winston, a girl who was more than happy to welcome him home. It was a normal one night stand and Liam hadn't thought about her since, until she turned up on his porch with a pregnancy stick a couple weeks later. Out of guilt, Liam married the girl. It was a quickly ceremony at the town hall and his mother was drunk off her ass at the thought of being a grandmother. Anna Gates hated Mila. While she didn't think being in a gang destroyed any chances of having a good life, Mila's 'pregancy' came to Anna as if her son's life was over.
Mila never had him come to any doctors visits and when she came to Liam one day saying she had lost the baby, he grew suspicious. She didn't seem at all bothered by the fact and it was only when he bumped into her brother that Liam found out the truth. The baby had been a lie and he immediately filed for divorce. A process that took a little over a year to become final, because the judge wanted Liam to pay for Mila's rehab (as if her substance abuse was the cause for their sham of a marriage). As Mila only continued to relapse, the judge finally had enough and granted the divorce. Even going so far as to apologize to Liam for the trouble.
Being so emotionally exhausted from the wasted year of his life, Liam's mother thought it was high time he knew he had a brother (like the news would help ease his mind). How Anna knew about John, he didn't know exactly, but figured his mother had stayed in touch with Nicholas Allerdyce. A man he had tried seeing once when he was seventeen, but was turned away. Liam had the impulse to find his brother and with some research found out John was apart of the Brotherhood, going by the name Pyro. It took him a couple years to actually leave Australia, having responsibilities to his 'adoptive' family that needed to be seen to first.
When it came time for him to leave, the Legacy Virus hit and Liam fell victim to the illness. However, he made it through once given the treatment. It took him a while to fully recover from the virus. And it wasn't until 2012 that he finally made it to America, having been pulled back into gang activity and once again finding himself in jail.
He easily boarded a cargo plane to America in the beginning of December and found shelter at a shitty hotel. He gave himself a couple weeks to adjust to the city, before he went in search for John. And instead of introducing himself when he found his little brother, Liam went about watching him. Knowing he was being a creeper, but almost afraid to approach the younger Allerdyce and his wife. How did you confront a brother who didn't even know you existed?
