Name: Delilah Andromeda Pearl.
Alias: N/A.
Age: 19.
Birthday: 03/10/1994.
Hometown: Salem, Oregon.
Appearance: Looking much like a doll, Delilah has brown hair that's normally straight and a pair of wide peculiar grey eyes. A slim build, she come to five foot six and never wears a heal passed three inches. Her sense of style can be odd to be truthful. She has an affinity for top hats, loves the color blue and never passes up an article of clothing with an animal on it. Normally only seen in dresses, she is not a big fan of pants.
Personality: Delilah is a rather smart individual, however, her intelligence is normally overlooked by her habit of talking to herself or acting as others would claim as being crazy, which is just her illness making her either curious or paranoid. She has childish tendencies and at times just wants to snuggle up to her stuffed animals, especially after a good, long emotional outburst. While her life may seem chaotic to those who don't understand her, she actually has a rather good hold on her mental illness without using medication, but at the same time needs a stable routine. She doesn't trust normal looking people, and rather has faith in anyone who seems odd in the eyes of normal society.
Powers: Hearing voices in her head isn't because she has the ability to read minds, but is actually because of the auditory hallucinations she is plagued with. However, she can cause others to hear them as well by merely making eye contact. While to her the voice range in either bringing her down or simple conversations such as the weather, to others it's a constant tormenting string of voices telling them all of their flaws.
History: Jozef Pearl was just fifteen when his family moved to America from Holland. His father was an American whose family came from Salem, Oregon and so it was there that they settled. After finishing High School, Jozef went on to study Psychology at Oregon State University in Corvallis. It was there that he met Juniper Frisk, another Psych major. Juniper spoke her mind and was rather robotic, her studies being her life, but she soon made room for Jozef, coming to the conclusion that the feelings she had for him was love. They got engaged in their Junior year, but didn't get married until after they graduated.
It was four years after their marriage that Juniper grew pregnant. Jozef was excited, while his wife didn't share the same sentiment. There were many arguments over whether or not they should keep the baby. Jozef wanted to become a father, but Juniper thought of her job as her baby. Plus, she couldn't keep a goldfish alive, how in the hell was she supposed to care for a little human being?
Delilah Andromeda Pearl was born on March 10th with a clean bill of health, but still her mother didn't know how to handle her. Unlike some women, it seemed Juniper Pearl did not have maternal instincts. Jozef on the other hand doted on his precious daughter, knowing his wife had to force herself to be in their child's presence. Delilah grew up hardly knowing her mother because of this and at five years old her parents divorced with Juniper handing over all custody before she moved to Jacksonville, Florida.
Delilah didn't really thinking much off it, her mother was hardly there, so having her father was all that mattered. While Delilah had imaginary friends like any other young child, her father only started suspecting something was wrong when she started having violent tantrums with the wall. Having no other choice, Delilah was admitted to the Oregon State Hospital where her father worked, she was only seven years old at this time.
While her father could not treat her, another doctor by the name of Bonnie Laurent, diagnosed her with schizophrenia and immediately put her on medication, to which Delilah had to be held down in order to take. As she got older the medication only became stronger and Delilah was more or less walking around aimlessly the whole time, unless she was in her room.
Thirteen years old, Delilah's mutation was triggered during a visit from her father. He came every other day to see her and either brought her stories – such as Alice in Wonderland or Peter Pan (which were her favorites) – stuffed animals, or coloring books and crayons. She was coloring when the voices in her head started telling her that her father hated her. That her mother had disliked her so much she ran away to the other side of the country and now her father was about to do the same.
“No, no, no!” she started yelling, violently hitting her head to make the voices stop. Her father called for the nurses and tried to hold her arms at her sides, but she only struggled making it harder to do so. It was a split second of eye contact and her father let her go, backing away from her quickly as he held his head and yelled at her to make it stop. Delilah blinked once and the room went completely quiet, until the nurses came and gave her a shot to calm her down. The last she saw of her father was him looking at her, horrified.
That night, her father shot himself. From then on, Delilah felt betrayed. She didn't trust anyone and she spent most of her time in the art room, painting things no one other than her could understand. She hardly talked to anyone unless she was insulting them or yelling at them for taking away her stuffed animals. That was until she met Jackson Graham. While a nurse, Jackson was quite peculiar. He loved cards and old movies and Delilah got him into Alice In Wonderland. Finding him rather entertaining and even going so far as to give him one of her top hats.
Their growing friendship was frowned upon by the staff and Jackson was warned a couple times to stay away from Delilah. But even the threat of his job didn't stop their relationship. As things between them went into romantic waters, Jackson was fired and Delilah was put on a probation period with eyes constantly on her. She was seventeen when Jackson helped her escape, he gave her money and put her on a bus to New York with a promise that he would meet her there.
He never came and not knowing what else to do, Delilah found a home in Central Park with a couple other people, but coming off her medication and rambling to herself, made even homeless people uneasy. For a whole year, Delilah lived like this. Eating the left overs she finds on café tables and sleeping deep in the park so the cops won't find her.
