I JUST REALIZED ABEL HAD NO PROFILE. WHOOPSIES.
Full Name: Abel Aleksandr Aarons.
Alias: Traveler.
Age/DOB: Twenty-three | October 7th, 1989.
Hometown: Brighton Beach, Brooklyn.
Appearance: Despite his height of five feet and nine inches, the curly mass of brown hair always tends to add an extra inch or so to that height. That is, until Abel’s mother decides it’s far too ‘fro-like’, and gives him a haircut in the kitchen. His eyes are a color to be debated, due to the fact they sometimes look gray or blue, while other times look green. Usually Abel simply states they’re ‘hazel’, due to the fact that hazel seems to be the miscellaneous group when it comes to eye colors. Of medium built and height, he usually dresses in tee shirts and jeans, as well as the always present homemade sweater that his mother, without fail, provides him with a few times throughout the year, sometimes even with some warm, knitted socks, scarves, hats, gloves, and once a pair of knitted swimming trunks. Luckily that scarring accident happened when he was five, so everyone has moved on and it only gets mentioned once or twice a month.
Personality: A babbling, bumbling klutz of a young man, Abel has a tendency to ramble on and on when placed in social situations. Often he simply blurts out useless pieces of trivia, due to his lack of social skills. Nonetheless, where he lacks in social aspects, Abel makes up for intelligence. Excelling in any and all academic courses that have been presented in front of him, he can recite the pi off of the top of his head, but never ask him to name a Britney Spears song. In one word, Abel can be described as a ‘sweetheart’. With an even temper as well as a nice set of manners, he’s the type that timidly follows whatever rules are placed before him, even the stupid ones like waiting twenty minutes after eating, before you take a swim.
Powers: Teleportation: Abel has the ability to teleport himself at will. However, he can only teleport to places he’s already been, and only within a eight mile radius. Also, when Abel feels more tired or sick, he finds it more difficult to teleport, meaning he sometimes gets off on his destinations by a few feet, or can’t go as far away.
History: It had taken years for money to be saved up, but during the fall of 1982, Aleksander Aarons and his wife Regina had managed to save enough money to move from their native Russia, to a small, cramped apartment in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. The pair of married musicians quickly settled into the American way of life, and found themselves to be very happy in their new home. That happiness only expanded with the arrival of their first child, Anya, the first of their four children, who was born in the fall of 1983, a full year after they immigrated to America. Two years later they welcomed yet another girl Arina. Following Arina came their third and final daughter in 1986. Finally in 1989, their final and only son, Abel was born.
Growing up, financially things were a bit tight. Sasha worked for the subway system as a conductor, while giving violin lessons on the weekends. Regina on the other hand gave full time piano lessons in their cozy, yet hardly modern Brooklyn townhouse, every afternoon like clockwork. Despite the fact they weren’t rolling in spare change, Abel and his sisters had a very happy and joyful upbringing. His mother always made sure that hearty, filling meals covered their tacky, outdated kitchen table, and his father always made sure books, (usually battered, yellowing copies), found their ways into Abel’s hands, and fixed up used instruments for his sisters to play and enjoy. Though his sisters liked to tease their youngest and only brother, it was always done in a good-natured manner.
It was soon evident that Abel was an exceptionally bright boy. From his very first year in school, Abel excelled and easily aced any and all academic courses. As he got older, he was placed on a more rigorous and advanced schooling track, making it possible for Abel to graduate not one, but two years early. At the age of sixteen he soon began to take classes at Columbia University, his intended major to be paleontology. After graduating, Abel was looking forward to nothing more than a nice summer break. Of course, the very first day of summer he spent defeating zombie life during some video game. Nonetheless, while sitting in a tee shirt and his boxers on the couch of his family room, Abel suddenly found himself transported outside to a bench that lined the sidewalk along his apartment building.
It was only after various other instances like this occurred that Abel did some snooping and came to the conclusion that he was a mutant; something he had kept away from his parents. After all, with the growing hate for the outted mutants, and all the hard work his parents had done to come to America, ‘the land of the free’, Abel couldn’t bear to tell his parents of his own powers. So, with much concentration and various excuses as to why he got locked out during the night, Abel kept his mutation under wraps. That was, until the Legacy Virus made itself public. Scared of being caught without being registered, but also fearful of his parents’ reaction if he did out himself as a mutant, Abel has remained at this cross roads, uncertain about what to do, but unwilling to take a step in either direction.
Already having an undergraduate degree under his belt, (which was completed in three years,) Abel has remained living at home, and is now working on achieving his masters.
Since then, he has met and moved in with Aggie Grey, with her young daughter. The pair had begun to date, a relationship his entire family was pleased and excited by. Unfortunately for Abel, he lost his memory and now remembers absolutely nothing.
