Name: Teddy Norma Jean Gunn.
Alias: Gunn, Weapon 0, Braun.
Age: 27.
Birthday: 02/20/1986.
Hometown: Shiprock, New Mexico.
Ethnic Background: German.
Citizenship: American.
Religion: Atheist.
Family:
Terence Donald Gunn || Adoptive Father
Effie Georgia Gunn || Adoptive Mother
Appearance: Blonde hair and blue eyes, Teddy has model-like good looks. No matter she would rather be shot in the boob than ever have her face plastered across a magazine. While short, she wouldn't wear a pair of heels if she were paid a million dollars. She grew up in the desert, what use are a pair of damn heels in the sand. Style isn't something she really ever considers, being a bit of a tomboy but also taking necessity over vanity. She has her clothes and usually she just wears pants and shirts.
Personality: Teddy doesn't bullshit and she doesn't take shit from anyone. Five foot four and she will sweep a grown man under the table. Maybe her powers help some, but she's not afraid to get in a fight with her own bare hands, being more than a little bit of a scrapper. Not only that, but whether or not the law allows it, Teddy carries a gun and will not let legality keep her from threatening someone with it. She's not a complete hard ass, she knows how to be compassionate, but she also knows when enough is enough.
Powers: Teddy has a skeleton made fully of adamantium, with nails that can sharpen into six inch tiger-like claws. She also has accelerated healing, but only for minor wounds. She can go a couple weeks without eating or drinking, as well.
History: Weapon 0 was a project collaborated by American, British and German eugenicists, led by Doctors Reinstein and Koch. As Reinstein left as World War II began, Koch was left alone to lead the German branch. However, Koch let himself be taken with Hitler's ideals and so was in the process of creating the most angelic and dangerous creature known to man, with the ideal genetics of blonde hair and blue eyes. But, Koch's surprise for his leader was put aside when other projects were in more dire need of his attention. Years past and Weapon X got their hands on Koch's plans, plus the genetic pool all ready to go, all Dr. Emrys Killebrew had to do was follow Koch's notes to the T. Using a surrogate, Weapon 0, otherwise known as Braun, was born. The surrogate was a nurse and underling for Weapon X. Trusted to keep her mouth shut as the child she gave birth to grew beautiful everyday, and even more dangerous with extensive tests and training.
Five years later, the surrogate, Janine, had enough. She took the mutant girl who was her daughter only by birth, and ran away. Having only crossed the Colorado/New Mexico border, Janine had to pull Braun behind some jagged rocks as shots were fired at them. She gave Braun an injection in her temple, before telling her to run and keep going until she felt safe.
Terence and Effie Gunn were both born and raised in the small town of Shiprock, New Mexico. They hadn't exactly known each other all of their lives, but rather knew of each other. Always spotting each other across the playground. It wasn't until they were in high school that they started dating. A lot of people don't believe in soul mates, not even their parents, but at sixteen they were convinced that they were made for each other. That they had a purpose in life and together they were going to face it.
It wouldn't be until they were in their fifties, their marriage still going strong, that they stumbled across a little girl in the middle of nowhere on their way home from Albuquerque. They would have thought it was a Navajo or Apache child roaming around as they normally do, but the child's hair was the color of the sun and her eyes were such a piercing blue, they knew that she couldn't be of Native American decent. Terence and Effie tried to get her to talk. Where were her parents? Where did she come from? What was her name? How old was she? She had no answers. She didn't speak and by the looks of her, dressed in a dirty medical gown, they could only guess what her life had been life.
Effie pleaded wither Terence to let them take her home. Just for one night and then the next morning they would take her to the nearest hospital. Their home might not have been extravagant, but the little girl thought it was amazing, going by the looks on her face. It was during dinner that the little girl gave Terence her piece of bread after he was finished and told him 'eat.' It was then that Effie and Terence made the decision.
They took her to the hospital and got her all checked out and though it wasn't protocol, the social worker there let them take her home with the promise that she would acquire the appropriate documents for adoption. Of course, having a friend that was a social worker helped. It didn't take nearly as long as it normally would. As they waited for the papers to be drawn up, Terence and Effie got the girl a birth certificate. While they didn't know exactly how old she was or when she was born they went by the Doctor's estimate of being four to five years old. Not to mention they had already started calling her Teddy. So it was a matter of getting it on paper.
Teddy Norma Jean Gunn was supposedly born February 20th, 1986 to Terence and Effie Gunn. It took a while for them to get her to speak from one syllable words to full sentences and a couple more months to find that their little girl was a mutant. Teddy scared the crap out of Terence and Effie when she began playing with a mountain lion and came out of the small scuffle with a smile and a couple scratches that healed within the hour. Without a word, they knew and agreed that no matter what, Teddy was their little girl.
Effie wanted to dote on Teddy like the little girl she was, giving her what they could afford, but being rather girly. However, Teddy rather liked working with 'papa' in the fields or going rattlesnake hunting. She was an excellent shot the moment they put a gun in her hands and a hard worker since the day they took her in, always jumping in to help even with tasks that were way to much for a young girl. However, they lived on a good piece of land and it had to be tended to. Coyote's had to be chased off from the chicken coop and sometimes they couldn't afford groceries so they had a garden and went hunting for whatever animal meat they could find.
Teddy never once thought Terence and Effie were anything but her parents and she never regained any memory of her life before she was found by the Gunn's. She was twenty-two when the men came, but she had been out trying to get some of the sheep back in the pin when she heard the familiar sounds of gunshots. Teddy raced back to the house, only to find her parents dead and a letter waiting for her. 'We will find you. X'.
Overcome with grief and anger, Teddy buried her parents and set the house of fire. Going down to live in the caves beneath the house, where it was practically an underground bunker. Only not as nice. She slept on slabs of rock with a single blanket, trying to focus in on the lost memories from her early childhood. It wasn't until she had a dream about darkness and a lake, but there was something under the dam... A woman had taken her away from the place. There had been needles and numerous tests. It took a while before Teddy ever actually got a location in her dreams. Alkali Lake.
With that, Teddy packed a rucksack and left New Mexico in search of the people who killed her parents. Canada definitely wasn't like home. She felt like Dorothy without the ruby slippers. However she grew accustomed to the weather change. Finding Alkali lake wasn't the hard part. However with the dam being broken, any information she wanted was lost. An hour of cussing the skies and Teddy was back to her determined self. Trying to find anything that had to do with the letter 'X'. Being so secluded in the land of Enchantment, Teddy didn't know much about the X-Men, but being out in normal civilization, it seemed mutants and the X-Men were widely known.
At first, Teddy was blood thirsty, that was until she found out that the X-Men weren't a terrorizing group, but 'heroes'. She stayed away from them for a good while. Years in fact, trying to find anything that could lead her to the people who left her the note. Ending up in New York city anyways, she found herself at a gate of a school
