Appearance: Since leaving UNIT, Adeola has come around to the idea of colours. While she doesn't mind dressing up on ocassion she'd much rather wear a comfortable pair of jeans and a sweater or tank top depending on the weather. Her hair is kept straight and down and she doesn't normally wear make-up.
Personality: After temporarily losing four years worth of memory, Adeola became rather recluse, only trusting Jack. Her feelings remained bottled up and she didn't easily trust people. Since regaining her memory she isn't as afraid to bring out her more open personality but is still wary of people she doesn't know too well. She is much more approachable now and doesn't hesitate to open up to the people she's close to.
Powers: Link became aware of her powers when rough housing with her brother which lead to her foot going through the coffee table at age 15. All her powers lie in her hands. She is able to heal people by reconstructing their DNA. The way her powers work is by picking up on disturbances in the DNA strands (which gave her the ability to to remove the Cure from Jack's body.) When healing someone, she has to turn on a mental switch for the powers to begin working. Depending on the severity of the wound she could be healing one wound for quite some time. In this case she can be left completely drained and her powers aren't able to work for some time.
When it comes to healing herself she does not need to rely on using her hands as the mental switch is automatically turned on. That said it also works a contraceptive unless her powers are weakened in anyway.
Since she works with DNA she is also able to envision someone by touching some sort of DNA (saliva, blood, hair). This power isn't as strong as her other one and usually only works if the DNA is still fresh.
Background: She grew up in Queens, New York, with one brother, mom, and dad. When she found out about her powers at the age of fifteen it only served for her parents to shut her out. She quickly became the shadow in her parents life as they paid more attention to her younger brother. As soon as she turned eighteen and (barely) graduated from high school, she moved out. Lucky enough to find a job working for the government working in the Manhattan Municipal Court as a secretary. She eagerly took it in the hopes that she would be able to have a good income.
Soon enough she found out how much she hated her job, when mutants were constantly insulted. She only kept the job so she'd be able to live in her run down apartment and because of this no one at work knew she was a mutant. At the age of nineteen (barely a year after she started her job) Adeola had been just about to leave work she found a man being escorted out of the building in handcuffs. Her curiousity got the better of her and she fellowed the cops outside only to find out that he had stolen files from their workplace. She was told to stay behind and talk to the police to see if she had any information on him. She learned his name as well as his reason behind stealing files. Finding out that he had stolen them for the right of mutants it didn't sit right with her and she wasn't siding with the police or her job on the charges put against him. Looking into it more she decided to try and help this mysterious Captain Jack Richards out. She deleted his files fully knowing that she could be in a lot of trouble. It wasn't an easy decision to make as it meant she would also need to delete her own records knowing if she didn't, she would be put in jail looking at a lifetime sentence.
With both her and Jack Richards wiped from existence they teamed up together. Only for tragic events to unfold which left Jack with the tough decision to make. He wanted to help her forget the time she spent with a man named Essex who did experiments on her. He accidentally overdosed her on amnesia pills and caused her to forget four years of her life. This was a large turning point for her and it was much more difficult to trust people. Soon they began a small group who had the same beliefs as they did. They called themselves UNIT and worked to bring fairness between mutants and humans. Not always in the best way.
Her memory slowly began coming back to her until one night she had a very vivid dream that explained things she had been questioning for years. She found out Jack had given her the amnesia pills and for some time lost all trust in him and almost left. It was difficult to though as she had also regained her feelings for Jack. After a lot of mixed emotions on both parts it all became very simple and they started a relationship. Admittedly it was rocky as feelings could get in the way of missions but she was adamant with making it work.
Everything the knew soon changed in Novemember of 2007 they lost one of their long time members Thomas Milligan. It shook up their beliefs and without much hesitation it was decided UNIT would banned. Adeola was very reluctant to leave everyone she knew and trusted but knew she couldn't stay. Due to everything that happened Jack had become so closed off that not even Adeola could try and help him when he needed a friend. Not only did she leave UNIT behind but also the man she was falling in love with.
Only a few weeks after the disband Adeola found out she was pregnant which only shook her up further. Any attempts at contacting Jack to let him know were met with hesitation. Until finally she had gone to his apartment and told him in the heat of an arguement. It became clear he no longer wanted to be in her life which led her to realize how her brother, Leon, must have felt about her leaving and not contacting him. Finding his information she had gone to see him and luckily everything was ok between them. It wasn't until Christmas Eve that she found out just how bad Jack's temperary (at least she thought) depression had caused him to hurt himself. She found out he had fallen off a grate on the Brooklyn Bridge into oncoming traffic below. She remained by his bedside for the remainder of his stay at the hospital. Suffering from amnesia she had decided not to tell him about the pregnancy just yet as he wasn't emotionally stable and she didn't want to make anything worse. He had agreed to come live with her and she was feeling more confident that he would stick around when he found out she was pregnant. Of course perfect timing are two words not in her vocabluary. While in the hospital Jack did find out about the baby and while he was shocked at first he did come around to the idea eventually.
They began to build their relationship again and things were looking good until they had a run in with an organization called ARC. They were after all of the information UNIT had on the government and took Valerie Wright, Adeola and Jack hostage. It took almost a month to break out. They made sure that ARC couldn't come after them by blowing their building up.
She contacted her family after several years and after meeting them with Jack the first time it had become clear they wanted nothing to do with her or her new family. Almost giving up hope she decided to give them one last chance after their daughter was born. In the midst of all this Jack had, untradtionally, proposed to her which made her feel a lot better about their future together. She knew he wouldn't settle down easily into a normal life but was glad that she'd be there with him. On July 9th Adeola gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Isabel Rose. Soon after she contacted her parents again and even though there was a lot of tension around them it all began to work out and now they talk more than they had in years.
On December 6th 2008 Jack and Adeola were married at the Venitian Yacht Club in Babylon.
