Full name: Jonathan Stevens
Alias: Eclipse
Age: 29
Date of Birth: October 10th 1980
Hair: Dark Brown
Eyes: Green
Height: 6'1"
Appearance: Eclipse prefers to wear tight shirts that show off his muscles as well as wife beaters so everyone can see the amount of tattoos on his upper body. His powers can leave him quite sensitive and vulnerable to light which causes him to wear sunglasses most of the time when outside on a sunny day.
Personality: He comes off as arrogant but that is only to hide his insecurities. Very flirtatious towards women he finds attractive. He tends to judge people by their appearance, which he has been told by quite a few women, makes him shallow. Eclipse would much rather spend his time around people and can usually be found at popular night clubs. Mainly Hellfire were he feels most comfortable, even though his powers aren't at all obvious.
Powers: Mentally he is able to control any form of light, whether it be artificial or natural. By concentrating on a source of light he is able to be cause refraction in the travel of light and bend it to his will. This does however make him sensitive to light and it took a long time for him to be able to control his powers without doing anything damaging to himself. When they first manifested he had constant headaches when he lost control and had become recluse, trying to avoid light as much as possible. His powers can be switched on and off by a mental switch which took years of practicing to finally achieve this.
Background: He grew up in England with his two brothers, one sister, mum and dad. He moved to America when he was only 13 which was when his powers took effect. At first he wasn’t able to discuss this with his siblings or parents but they had become worried when he became less social and preferred to spend time by himself. Once they had discussed it he found them to be accepting, but not as proud as he wish they would be. It was clear they weren't the people to talk about his ongoing struggle for control over his mutation which proved they weren't close like they used to be. His siblings also seemed hesitant to talk about it as none of them had become mutants. It was in his personality not to rely on people and once he turned eighteen he moved out of his family's house and into the busy world of New York City. He had attempted to go to college, but didn't have the drive and was struggling to keep up with his rent to do anything besides work. For quite awhile he lived on his own, spending most nights out at clubs where he met some very interesting people. He had been content and comfortable with his life until things took a turn for the worst in the fall of 2007. The rift between humans and mutants became larger until a devastating war took place in Washington. As he was proud to be a mutant he realized that going to Hellfire wasn't the greatest place to try and help his own kind, unless it was to buy a beer or two, and he decided to find out what Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters was all about. With a bit of hesitation and difficult decisions he had finally convinced himself to live there, helping around the school and making new friends. He had formed a friendship with a few people, but found himself attracted to practically a polar opposite of himself going by the name Astral. Only a few months of living there he was disappointed to find out he didn't think he was helping as much as he could have been at the school. And being an adult that could afford his own place to live felt it wasn’t right to take more money out of Charles Xavier’s pocket just for him. Discussing this with Astral he found out she was thinking about leaving as well. Very vague plans were made where they would go somewhere together and help mutants in their own way. That was until he found out she had been talking about the Brotherhood as well as a man, John, he encountered previously who did not sit well with him. Persuading her not to go became futile and to his frustration she left the mansion and him. Eventually he too moved out and back into the city to find another place to live. In only a few weeks he happily settled into a new apartment in the Upper Eastside of Manhattan (East 73rd Madison Avenue). But as luck would have it, once again mutants were under attack but not just by humans this time. A virus has been spreading from other countries such as Europe that has been told to be taking mutant’s lives. Hearing that it’s come here had made him apprehensive to leave his apartment and he was finding out, with some irony, that he was becoming recluse again.
Family
Charlotte Stevens- Mother
Age 57, works as a secretary for the Oneonta City School District building. She's a rather quiet woman, but that doesn't stop her from putting her children (and sometimes grandchildren,) in their place. And being quiet doesn't stop her from keeping an eye on the neighborhood, ignoring her family if they tell her to stop being nosy; she just wants to make sure nothing dangerous is going on!
Michael Stevens- Father
Age 60, is currently retired but used to work as a conductor on the NYC Railroad (New York Central Railroad) system up until he was 55. Michael isn't one to hold in what he wants to say, even if sometimes that gets him in trouble. He is retired now due to a bad knee that kept him from being able to work properly, but is living comfortably on his retirement fund as well as the money that his wife brings in.
Adam Stevens- Brother, first born
Age 38, he is a qualified medical doctor working in South Africa to try and help take care of the sick people of this third world country. Although his parents weren't happy that he would be so far away, they knew that since Adam was very young that he wanted to become a doctor. He is a very determined person and when he was asked to work in Africa he was very excited about it, knowing he would be helping make a difference.
Hannah Stevens- Sister, second born
Age 34, a mother of two (Adrianna, 7 and Phillip, 3), she lives in Ithaca, New York with her husband James. She doesn't have a job at the moment, busy being a mom but very much enjoys it. As she was the second born and the first girl her parents were a little more lenient with her than they were with her brother. She always had the newest dolls, especially when her grandmum would ship them over from England.
Ryan Stevens- Brother, third born
Age 32, living back in England now as he was never truly happy about living in America.
