Appearance: Tall and leggy, Zara was born naturally blonde but as she grew up, her hair became darker and she now dyes it to keep it blonde. She has piercing blue eyes and because of her powers, her skin appears to sparkle.
Personality: Zara has a habit of expecting other people to do things for her, and can therefore appear quite self-absorbed, but she does have a genuinely nice nature. She is very trusting if a tad judgemental.
Powers: Zara's powers allow her to make ice that, so long as it is not subjected to heat, has the strength of diamond. Her skin is always coated with a thin layer of this ice, which makes her appear to sparkle. Though it allows her to quickly cover herself in a thicker layer of ice for protection if she needs it, her normal skin is not diamond strong. When using her powers, a glowing light appears in the centre of her forehead - getting larger the more she uses her powers, hence her alias 'Diadem.'
History: The Darmontes were a family who moved around a lot, jetting from business meeting to business meeting. Her mother ran an Italian-based jewelery company that was much in demand with various celebrities and her father owned shares in computer development companies and owned a line of fancy boutique hotels, always knowing which investments would do well. They happened to be in London when their fourth child, and first daughter, Zara was born. The youngest and only female, Zara was always going to be spoilt much to the antagonisation of her three older brothers, Fitz, Eric and Langford.
Growing up, Zara's time was spent between the family mansion in England, apartment in New York and castle in Sweden, living a life of affulence. If Zara wanted a new dress or a pony - she got it. Every whim was catered to and Zara was always quick to throw a fit if any of her brothers were mean to her, knowing she'd get some present or other.
Her mutation triggered when she was fourteen, attending a snooty private school for a term. With her eye set on a boy by the name of Harrison Bardot, Zara was to get into an arguement with a classmate named Fantine over the blue-eyed dreamboat. Mid-confrontation, just as the staff were descending on the scene to break it up, Zara's skin began to sparkle, a light emitted from her forehead and a blast of ice hit Fantine right in the face.
The next day, Carla and Jeremy pulled their daughter out of school to spare her all the gossipping and name-calling, showing her incredible support despite how bizarre she had become. From then on, Zara moved from school to school, never staying too long to allow rumours to spread and her name to be tainted.
Aged eighteen, Zara was fed up with her brothers teasing her about being a ditzy blonde, she went through the hard selection process to attend Cambridge University in England to earn a degree in Classics. Although she did well at university, Zara did not do anything to change her spoilt attitude or act as intelligently as she had proved to be.
Eventually, her parents tired of her leeching off of them, feeling it was time she learnt how to make her own way in the world and be an adult. Kicking her out of the family home, Zara moved to New York, spending her first few weeks shut up in the apartment they'd paid the first month's rent on, wasting all her money on designer clothes.
When her eldest brother Fitz moved to New York and bought the Hellfire Club, he was given instructions to look out for his sister which Zara took to mean that he should bail out her credit card debt. However, instead of the cash hand outs, Zara found herself working as a waitress at the club, unsure of how her life took so bad a turn.
When Fitz returned to work for their father, Zara handled the running of the club, becoming much more responsible.
