Full Name: Olivia Ladonna Freeman
Alias: Cayce
Age: 23
Birthday: 4th October 1989
Hometown: Hazel Green, Alabama
Current Occupation: Busgirl at Hellfire
Appearance: At 5’10”, Olivia is quite tall for her gender, her height made more noticeable by how skinny she is. Her red hair is long and dead straight, though she often curls it when she wants to look nice. Her skin is incredibly white and she keeps out of the sun to keep it that way as not to get sunburn and clash with her hair.
Personality: Olivia is quite a shy person, more so now that her powers have developed. Being able to hear everyone’s’ deepest and darkest thoughts makes her wary of people more than perhaps she should be and she often keeps to herself. That being said, when she finds a friend, she will be fiercely loyal to them.
Powers: Olivia is a telepath. Pure and simple. She hears the thoughts of others without having to try and often gets overwhelmed by the noise if she is around lots of people. She can block out the thoughts but it requires a lot of concentration.
History: Born into a small, working class family in Alabama, Olivia grew up as a grateful and honest child. Her father, Henry, worked in construction while her mother Eliza ran a cake shop with her sisters. When Olivia was ten, her sister Holly was born and the two girls would spend hours exploring the woods around their house. Their father was strict but not unkind and their mother was the image of perfection, never seen without a smile on her face.
When Olivia was fifteen, she and Holly were returning home from the park when a car came off the road towards them. They managed to dodge the car, but Holly hit her head when they’d dived to avoid it. In the hospital, the doctors refused to tell a distraught Olivia how her sister was doing until her parents arrived. Angry and upset, Olivia’s powers were triggered and she found herself able to hear the thoughts of everyone in the hospital around her. It unnerved her, but she didn’t question her gift at first, too busy on finding out how her sister was.
Holly made a full recovery and the sisters returned home with their parents where Olivia began to do research into physic ability. Finding her gift did not fit in with any of the descriptions of physics, Olivia looked at different explanations until she eventually stumbled upon the idea of mutations. Diagnosing herself a telepath, she decided against telling her god fearing family incase they threw her out.
Life continued as normal for the Freemans until Olivia was 18 and her mother was diagnosed with cancer. Refusing treatment, Eliza’s condition deteriorated greatly but she still smiled, determined to enjoy life until the very last. She was eventually moved into a hospice where her husband kept vigils all day, leaving Olivia to look after Holly. Eliza eventually passed, and after a month, Olivia found she couldn’t take the sorrow in the house any longer. Packing her bags, she informed her father of her mutation, who surprisingly was rather understanding and headed for New York with her savings to try and make a new life. Deciding to adopt a mutant alias, she took the surname of a famous psychic, and fashioned herself as Cayce.
Arriving in the New York, Cayce started off in a hostel in a rather dodgy part of the city. She set about looking for work and was lucky enough to be accepted at the first place she applied. It was mutant bar called the Hellfire Club, recently re-opened under the ownership of Fitz Darmonte. She and Fitz got along quite well instantly, probably due to both being rather shy fish out of water and this was why when Fitz offered her a room in his apartment over a room at the hostel, she accepted.
Although Fitz's sister Zara doesn't really care for her, Cayce is happy living with Fitz and working at the Hellfire Club. After introducing her father to the Darmontes at Christmas, Cayce feels much happier with the arrangement and it shows.
