History: Born in 1805 to Frederick and Catherine Beaumont, Edward Beaumont was a third sibling, arriving into the world following the births of his sisters, Alice and Harriet. He grew up as a resident in Chatsworth House and wanted for little. He was taught the art of society, but Edward veered from their norms by immersing himself with books to expand his knowledge about the ‘real’ world. He was frequently forced to undertake his role in the upper class, often attending dances and banquets, particularly in his quest to find a woman to marry, as instructed by his parents. However, even since childhood, he spent most of his time in his private quarters, distancing himself from the daily life of high class society and enjoying learning more about recent discoveries by theorists and scientists, and trying to mimic their way of thinking. He would spend hours taking objects apart, just to put them back together again and say he understood every aspect of their construct. He has never produced a working invention, but thoroughly enjoys the process of their creation and devoted much of his life to this hobby.
However, by the time he reached his 30th birthday, his family were growing concerned for the lack of interest he had shown in finding a wife to marry. His parents wished to pass down the estate to their son, particularly as their financial state was beginning to show a strain, but were adamant that he found a bride first.
