Background: Growing up in Cumberland, Kentucky. Melody Guthrie is the middle child of ten children. She lives in a tight knit family where no one hid secrets from each other. Even when her siblings began to have powers, they weren't judged are shunned. From a young age, Melody has always wanted to be like her brothers and sister. When her powers came at the age of thirteen she was able to relate her brothers and sisters more than ever. Recently, Melody has decided to go to Xavier's school, and her mother was glad to hear her in doing so. Especially Paige was there, her mother knew she would look after the younger Guthrie.
Appearance: Melody doesn't like to wear anything that makes her stick out of the crowd and can usually be found wearing 'plain Jane' clothing. She doesn't like anything that's too tight on her that makes her feel constricted when in the air.
Personality: First and foremost, Melody grew up in a Baptist family, which makes her have faith in everyone. She has a bubbly personality, but can be reserved at first. Her true personality not showing until she gets to know the person well. She is sometimes compared to her older sister, Paige, as most people notice the huge difference in how they act. She looks up to her sister and can usually be found hiding behind her when greeting someone new.
Powers: Melody was thirteen when her powers manifested. She had been working on a ladder to paint the side of the house, not checking to see if it was on flat ground. When she leaned forward to get more paint on the brush she lost her balance, causing the ladder to sway until it fell back. As panic coursed through her veins, preparing herself for the fall she found herself floating in the air. Once she was at a safe distance it seemed as though her powers shut off and she fell to the floor in shock and confusion. She soon found out that she could produce an aura which grants her the ability to float and ride airwaves. They don't always work but seem to become stronger when she's feeling stressed out. So will usually find herself waking up during exams time to be greeted with her face pressed against the ceiling of her dorm.
